The sixth edition of the TransPerfect Mountain Challenge has had a record number of participants. It is a solidarity race to help families with children and adolescents suffering from cancer.  The money raised will be given to the AFANOC association with the aim of helping families affected by childhood cancer.

The sixth edition of the TransPerfect Mountain Challenge will take place on 11th March, a charity event with the aim of joining forces with AFANOC in the fight against childhood cancer.
The presence of the renowned ultra marathon runner and model, Michele Graglia, and the inclusion of three races at all levels are some of the characteristics of this new edition of the event.

The first TransPerfect Mountain Challenge charity event was held in 2018 and was only open to people within the TransPerfect family. Since then, the initiative has continued to expand; today, the event is now also open to the public.
Last year, thanks to the various events organised by the TransPerfect Mountain Challenge team, a total of €52,029.77 was raised and donated directly to AFANOC, a local charity that supports families affected by childhood cancer.

In an effort to grow the much-loved Mountain Challenge initiative and increase the funds raised for the incredible local charity, AFANOC, the TransPerfect Mountain Challenge team is expanding their contribution to the cause; they are providing sponsorship and greatly supporting the organisation of other local sporting challenges, alongside their big annual Mountain Challenge event.

Following challenging personal circumstances and great dedication and enthusiasm for the cause, TransPerfect’s Senior Vice President of Global Production and founder of the TransPerfect Mountain Challenge, Barnaby Wass, has recently joined AFANOC’s Board of Directors.

In April of this year, the incredible local charity, AFANOC, opened its arms to a group of Ukrainian children diagnosed with cancer, alongside their relatives that arrived in Barcelona. These families were helped to completely integrate themselves and settle into a secure new life, receiving all the help, guidance and support they need – from medical aid to psychological comfort.

From international top model, to top endurance athlete; Michele Graglia is the renowned Italian ultra-runner who switched his lavish life of being a model, to spending time running in nature and becoming a loudspeaker for charitable projects and initiatives. He has been an enthusiastic participant and supporter of the TransPerfect Mountain Challenge over the years and continues to do so in our upcoming collaborative events.

After over two years of organising the charity initiative as a distanced virtual event, supporters of the TransPerfect Mountain Challenge were thrilled to see the event return to its face-to-face format for its fifth edition earlier this year. Participants in the Mountain Challenge were able to enjoy a fantastic day of sporting activities, good food and a great afternoon of music in the hills of Vallalta Valley.

In March of this year, a group of 16 Ukrainian children diagnosed with cancer arrived in Barcelona with their families and were accommodated by three Catalan reference hospitals with the help of local charity AFANOC. At the hospitals they were able to continue their life-saving cancer treatments and receive all the medical, social and emotional care they needed.

The AFANOC association offers psycho-emotional support to patients and their families during the process, and a home near the hospital where they can stay for free during treatment.

Naüm was only two months old when he was diagnosed with cancer. After receiving the hard news, a worker from the Vall d’Hebron Association of Relatives and Friends of Oncological Children of Catalonia (AFANOC) contacted his parents, Laura and Lluís, and offered them the support of the organization….

Today begins the TransPerfect Mountain Challenge, the solidarity race organized by TransPerfect to benefit families affected by childhood cancer. Until October 31, athletes from all over the world can register at transperfectmountainchallenge.com and participate virtually in this fourth edition to raise funds for the Association of Relatives and Friends of Oncological Children of Catalonia (AFANOC), a non-profit organization that provides support to families with children and adolescents with cancer.
